Works in Progress

Night Church Series

The Night Church series will be a paranormal dark fantasy spanning several eras with a gay vampire pastor, other LGBTQA main characters, and plenty of intrigue. While this series isn't written as spicy, there will be some explicit spicy scenes and violence.

Night Church (2026/2027)

In 1982, Johnathan Smith is a volunteer for Rising Hope Church's Night Mission: a shelter for queer and trans men in San Francisco. Johnathan thinks he is content with his life and the work that he does for the Mission, but when the new assistant pastor comes on board to oversee Rising Hope's mission work, Johnathan learns otherwise. Rev. Toby proceeds to turn his life upside down, helping a lonely vampire feel deep love and compassion again.

Rev. Toby Whittaker, a newly ordained pastor in his denomination, is excited about being called to serve with his mentor, Bishop Carl, at Rising Hope church. He's intrigued when he meets Johnathan, the volunteer who basically runs the Rising Hope's night shelter, not only because he's attractive, but because he also fits the description of a man in the collected journals of the wife of a transgender man, written in the late 1800s, that he had found in his seminary's library.

As they fall in love and reveal their deepest secrets to each other, forces move to drive them to their limits, not only from their own pasts, but by the looming crisis of AIDS.

The Uranian Gambit (2027)

In 1880 Boston's early spring, Tobias Reid, veteran of the recent Civil War, meets Lord Johnathan Smythe, a strange, pale man from England who wears dark glasses and gloves in the sunlight and sleeps during the day. When Tobias agrees to become Mr. Smythe's valet, him and his wife Elisabeth are suddenly thrown into a world he would never imagined he'd be a part of.

Lord Johnathan Smythe has come to the New World for a fresh start and to leave his days of intrigue and espionage behind. Unfortunately, he is forced to flee to San Francisco before he can even truly create a new life for himself when a Hunter, working with outlaw slaver mercenaries, comes after him and his newfound family.

When Tobias is captured, Johnathan realizes that he, and his family, have become pawns in a deadly game between the two most powerful wizards known to exist. Can he alter the game to save the people he loves?

Loba Hot Springs Series

The Loba Hot Springs book series are spicy paranormal romance novels with queer and transgender main characters, werewolf packs that are based on wild wolf packs, found family, plenty of other shifters, and, oh, did I mention spice? This is set in the same universe as the Night Church series.

Book 1: The White Queen (Early 2026)

When Marguerite, owner of Loba Hot Springs and leader of her werewolf pack, lost everything in the Napa Valley Fire – including her mate– she powered through her grief in order to ensure that what was left of her pack survived and her hot springs were rebuilt. Ten years later, just as she had come to accept that her mate was gone and she would have to be alone forever, a new potential werewolf arrives at Loba. There's something about Charity that intrigues Marguerite, making it imperative that she rescue Charity from the abusive spouse who brought her to the hot springs. The strength of her attraction to Charity is terrifying and should not be possible for a Black Queen who had already had a mate.

Charity, dragged along for a swinger's weekend she never agreed to, but went along with it in order to keep the peace with her wife, who she hates, never thought she'd be able to get out of that relationship. But Marguerite's rescue, and offer of a werewolf bite, is more than she ever dreamed could be possible in her 40 years of hell. Could the promise of the Change, and what she feels for Marguerite, be real, or is it just another pretty lie?

But when a rogue organization takes Charity captive just after accepting Marguerite's offer, the Loba Hot Springs pack, and their allies, will move heaven and earth to ensure that the Black Queen will not lose her second chance at happiness.

Book 2: The Werewolf and the Priest (Working Title – 2027)

After the events in The White Queen, Davy heads to Rome with Johnathan and his MI6 handler, Harry. When their investigation initially seems to be going nowhere, Johnathan appeals to the Vatican for help. The new Pope sends a young priest, from the newly created Vatican Occult Liaison Office that has replaced the elite group of priests that were known as Hunters. As the priest helps them navigate the intrigue around the Silvani Corporation, the local human mafia, and the Roman Pack, Davy begins to realize that his initial attraction to the priest isn't just lust. The young priest, who grew up on the streets of Rome until he was taken in by a former Hunter, wrestles not only with his attraction to a werewolf (and a man!), but with the vows he thought he'd never want to break.
