Fountain Pen Thoughts -- Jan 31

I wrote this grat post about what true "patriotism" is using Londo Mollari from Babylon 5 because he has a great speech in the series about it. I wrote it in Tumblr and I thought I'd copies the whole post and when I went to put it in a Google Doc, it only copies the quote. Of course, I'd closed Tumblr before I pasted it.

I've tried to re-write it, but no joy. Sigh.

TL;DR:

Compassion, love, and forgiveness are 3 seperate things. None of them are dependant on the other.

I am a patriot in the sense that I do the work I do for my people in my country, and while I have compassion for Trump supporters who are getting harmed by Trump's policies, I don't have to love them or forgive them for putting him in office. I also don't have to tolerate anyone giving me hate because of who I am. I do NOT have to tolerate intolerance.
