New Site, who dis?

Sitting in my office in our new (to me) house in Ireland, I looked out my window and saw the above. Staring out my office window has become my new favorite pastime, and the dark rain clouds behind the buildings overlooking the town square made for a beautiful sight. Honestly, I don't mind the rain and cold here (unlike like most Irish folk). My body doesn't do heat very well, and Ireland's climate, especially after my time in Florida is glorious.
Not that we haven't had some serious rainstorms here. It is an island country, after all, but Florida is on a whole other level. Florida is just hot and humid all the time and I'm really not going to miss hurricanes.
It's wonderful to be able to say that I'm home now, though. After everything I went through to get here, it's amazing to just sit, write, and look out my window. I've made my office very comfortable by adding a kettle, plenty of tea, a writing desk where I can write with my fountain pens, and a pair of comfortable chairs where my Wife can come and hang out with me if she wants to.
That's the most important part: my Wife can come and sit with me in my office. In the same house. In the same country. Any time she wants.
I started tearing up a little when I wrote that. That will take time to get used to again. It's falling into familiarity mixed with rediscovering ourselves as a married couple living together again. It's strange and wonderful all at the same time. We both have changed, since we've been apart for nearly 2 years, but we're also fundamentally the same. I'm really glad we communicate as well as we do.
My location hasn't been the only change in my life recently, and now's the time for me to reflect that in my web presence as well. As you can tell, I've switched to using my pen name, Lulu James Spencer, for all of my socials and this website. In the coming months, I'll be revising my books and their covers as well. The biggest change for my site, though, is that my website is no longer hosted on a US server, especially since I write stories with unapologetic queer and trans characters, and my books have content which, to a right wing evangelical government, would be considered porn (even the books that are explicitly NOT porn). My work can no longer be disappeared, and that is a huge relief.
This site has the option to subscribe, and I recommend that you do. In addition to my public posts, I'm also going to start posting WIP snippets, short stories, and other writings that will be for subscribers only. Don't worry, it's free to sign up.
This feels good and right and while I'm not always good with big changes, this felt like an important one. So, I welcome you to my new home on the web, and I hope you like what you read. Or at least, find it interesting. I can't promise that I won't provoke folks from time to time...
