Update: You might have noticed A few changes around here

There's a lot going on right now, but I'll try to keep it concise.

I've decided to start using the pen name of Lulu James Spencer. I kind of tried it out on BlueSky at first, then in some other places, and really, I kind of like it. I was inspired a bit by a character from a skit series on TikTok called "CaFae Latte" by C. M. Alongi. A non-binary character goes by the name "Jennifer Charles" and I thought that mix of feminine and masculine names was interesting for a non-binary person.

If you've read the Survey series, you'll know where I got Lulu from. James isn't from a particular character of mine, but I thought it just sounded good with Lulu. As for the "Spencer" part of the name, well, you'll have to read the forthcoming Survey book "Control" to know where that came from.

And yes, I am non-binary. I'm sure that this surprises no one who knows me in real life. Trans masc non-binary, to be precise. Which is part of the reason for the pen name, really. It fits, at least for now.

What I'm planning to do, as far as using my pen name for my books is to re-release all my scifi under "L. James Spencer" and, once I'm ready to launch them, all my paranormal/urban fantasy books under "Lulu J. Spencer." So, hopefully, in a few months, I'll be re-releasing all the Survey series books under the new name, and also releasing book 5: "Nemetona."

And yes, I'm taking a break from the scifi for a bit to write some urban fantasy. Head on over to my book page for descriptions of the two books on I'm currently working on. I'm having a lot of fun writing these characters and I hope you'll enjoy them! And don't worry, there's still 2 books of Survey coming out after "Nemetona," so there's plenty more Survey coming.

And lastly, if you didn't see it earlier, my visa finally came through and, as of this past Sunday, I'm home! It's such a mix of emotions, but I'm so happy to finally be with my Wife full time again!

That's pretty much all for updates. I'm glad folks are enjoying the Lent Poetry series. I'm going to try and be more regular about blog posting once the series is done. I'm not sure exactly what I'll be writing about next, but I'll figure something out.

A Blessed Ramadan to those who are doing that at the moment. Happy Easter to all those who will be celebrating that. And also a Blessed Equinox/Ostara... uh... wow! It's today! I've been so busy that Ostara snuck up on me!

And with that, it's time for bed. The next update I'll have some book recommendations for you while you wait for my new releases!
