Lent Poetry 16

The days I love you the most
are the worst days--
the frustrating days
when the world seems too big
and nothing's going right,
the days where your body
isn't cooperating,
the days when something sits hard
taking your breath
or stealing your shine.
Those are the most important days--
where my love needs to prop you up,
tell you that the world isn't ending
and most importantly,
remind you
that I am still
here.
